I was recently booked for a day in a local school where I was asked to work with year 1 on their transport topic. The day was a mix of author booking as well as supply cover.
Since the book was published it has been amazing how many people the Playbus helped over the years.
Having now delivered my books to Downing Street I can say that a copy of each book is both at number 10 Downing Street as well as Buckingham Palace.
I have often been asked, how did I become a children’s author. My children’s writing journey all began with the carnival.
“What do you remember about the bus?” I asked.
"The friendship and it was always full of laughter. It created happy memories" was the reply.

Most people when you mention Playbus recall the 1963 British musical feature film ‘Summer Holiday’ which starred Sir Cliff Richard.
This summer, the 2018, August edition of the Flybe magazine contained an article regarding the Bewbush Playbus books and the fictional tales of Jay-Jay the Supersonic Bus.
So why and how did this come about?
In 2012 the Bewbush Playbus photographic book was published. The photographs, from both public and private collections, had been used to promote the project, highlighting what a playbus was as well as what a playbus could offer.
It was lovely to be invited to Southgate School for World Book Day 2016.
