That bus is beeping at me again!

I've seen a Horticultural bus therapy bus project.

Although I don't know where it worked, or indeed what it actually did. Nor can I say if it is still about.

The Old Red Bus

I was told about a local Garden Centre which had a red bus for children to play on so of course I had to go along and look.

The bus was situated at the far end of the garden centre and was certainly very visible. But as I got closer, I noticed how sad it was looking. It was closed for a deep clean but perhaps it needs a lot more TLC to restore it. Battered and bruised, paint flaking and neglected, it was a sad sight.

It reminded me of my story, ‘Chicken Shed – The Forgotten Bus’, written but never quite finished. This was based on a little green bus that I met at Amberly Museum.

It also reminded me of a Thomas the Tank Engine and the ‘Playbus’ story.

The story was a magazine story which was republished in 2014 under the title Play Bus.

Thomas's Playbus Story

Bridget and Stephen are playing in the yard near the Fat Controller's office whilst their mother and Lady Hatt are shopping. Later, in an overgrown field, they spot Bulgy the double-decker bus. The Fat Controller forgives Bulgy, and Bertie tows him to be repaired. They decide to turn Bulgy into a playbus to entertain the children during the summer holiday.

I think ‘Gloria the Summer Fun Bus,’ would like this.

Well seeing this bus reminded me some of my stories part-written and so now perhaps it is time to look at them again.
