What makes you worried or afraid?
In my book A Spooky Tale, the teacher took the class on a walk and the children said they did not want to go because they did not feel well.
But maybe they were worried or scared, sometimes when you worry it can make you feel unwell.
The children on the walk came up with lots of suggestions as to what they might have seen on their walk.
Mayan Worry Dolls
An old story tells that when the Maya Indians of Guatamala had worries, they would tell them to the worry people.
At night they would place the worry people under their pillows and when they awoke, the worry people had taken their worries away..
This sounds like a great idea.
When visiting a school our task was to make a worry doll which the children would have gome on to dress with scraps of fabric.
You can make your own worry dolls using pipe cleaners.
For my Early Years Day for A Spooky Tale I made a few worry dolls to share.
