Gloria is a special Playbus.
She is painted with bright colours that makes her stand out. Now she is ready for a summer of fun, but will Max enjoy the adventure.
Why don't you join in the fun, too?
The real Gloria, NRG176N, was a Leyland Atlantean bus which came into service in 1989 to replace the old AEC Regent Playbus, JJK261.
The bus was often seen parked up at Gatwick airport, where it offered a quiet haven for children (and adults) caught up in airport delays. This association with the airport led to British Caledonian offering to paint the new livery.
Gloria and Gary Gatwick were the airport teddy bear mascots for Gatwick airport and were included on the new livery reflecting the bus links with Gatwick airport.
The Playbus provided children's groups and play opportunities around the town of Crawley.
Each of the airports had teddy bear mascots.
