Now all they needed was to make his outside just as bright and colourful too!
When in school I tell the children a bit about the background to my writing and how I became involved in the Playbus when my son joined the playgroup.
Then explain how my mistake took away the name of the bus ‘Supersonic’ but also how the nursery rhyme designs meant the older children did not want to use the bus as the designs looked babyish. If only they would come along inside!
I show the children some photographs of real buses decorated brightly, as well as the real Jay-Jay.
During golden time a few of the children in Year 1 wanted to design their own bus livery.
I think these designs might have made the children come running along to explore what was inside.
I am now collecting images of real buses painted and ready for play!
