Book signing events have been set up at both K2 and Squires Garden Centre in Crawley. Both venues were happy to support the book as a local project.

The main idea was to get the book out and seen, as it is not yet available in shops.

It gave people the chance to come along and see the book and buy a signed copy should they wish to buy one.

Although the event was for the new children’s picture book, ‘Jay-Jay the supersonic bus’, I also took along the ‘Bewbush Playbus’ book to further show where the idea came from and explain how it all began.

The story book is based on a real project but the story is universal, it is just a bus that is converted into a Playbus. Yes, we know it was a bus based in Bewbush and was converted at Gatwick airport but it does not say that in the book!

celia signingThere were those who, through social networking, came along specially to buy the book but there were also those in passing who liked the idea of a bus story book.

It was nice to be able to meet up with familiar faces and to share our memories.

It was great to hear that there are many with fond memories of the bus.

It always prompts the response:-

“We wish the bus was still around now!”
