A book to a spanish library

“Will you come and read your book to the children in our library?”

“Of course, I would love to!” I replied.

But this invitation was a little bit different.

Just like in ‘Jay-Jay and his Island Adventure’ this was going to be a very exciting adventure to a new place. This invitation was to visit some children in a tiny village in Spain.Where to?

The children had probably never seen a double-decker bus before and certainly not in their village.

“Wow!” this sounded fun to me.

Although I know a little Spanish, it is not very good and I wondered if the children would even understand about this Playbus?

How would this work? I thought.

With a simple visual PowerPoint presentation, I could show the real bus and what the ‘Playbus’ did.

Reading a book in SpanishThen reading the book in English the interpreters translated into Spanish and added a voice to Jay-Jay.

The children seemed to enjoy it as did the adults.

“We didn’t know Jay-Jay was a real bus.” They said.

What is the link to Spain?

Moraira, is a small friendly village that I have visited on many occasions. In fact, the Island on the cover of the book is ‘Cap D’or’ which is a local landmark.Cap D'or Moraira, Teulada

Now with both books in the libraries at Moraira and Teulada, the bus, might not have got to Spain but in my imagination, Jay-Jay did.

It really had been an exciting journey for me too.

“I wonder what Jay-Jay’s next adventure will be?”

“Maybe a Fiesta? That would be fun!”
